New characters:
Lin, Heidern, Juhn, Xiangfei, Hinako, Foxy, Bao, Kyo 1 and 2 (from various chapters in the 99/00/01 NESTS trilogy)
King and Shingo (not in the original cast of 02)
Nameless (new character, replaces K9999? or maybe a new boss?)

May Lee and Angel are back after some controversy (yay!) and there has been some alterations to the teams. The original KOF02 with the original cast (including K9999 and Omega Rugal as the boss) will be included. Game is set for a 2009 release on the PS2. Art and visual design by Nona.

Mer info, sorry att det är på engelska men det blir lättare för mig att posta på internationella sidor då.

Impressions from TGS videos
- New music, new stages, new HUD, new announcer. Stages now seem to have camera pan “intros” like the older games.
- Takuma has sparks added to his “projectile” moves resembling those used for Andy's projectiles. As expected QCF + C still has a partially invisible hit box like before but it's a nice touch.
- Orochi Yashiro's idle pose seems edited, it appears faster and more fluid.
- The max activation system is still intact, no apparent changes like in NeoWave.
- New artwork for all characters, win quotes included (unlike 98UM)
- Order select system is the same as in recent KOF games like NeoWave and XI.
- There is now a visible guard meter like in NeoWave and the health meter changes colors depending on the different phases.
- Yuri has a new voice over.
- Lin looks like he is based mainly off his 00 incarnation rather than his 01 appearance though he could be using moves from both.
- Athena is in her 02/NW outfit still but has her old psycho shoot (launching projectile) from 99/00 back. A mix of her theme song is in the game.

The new character
- Nameless is based heavily on the 02 incarnation of K9999 (whose currently MIA) and also acts as a middle boss. They share the same basic movements with the main difference being Nameless' fireballs (a double fireball for fewer hits but it's larger and knocks back now) his actual sweep (not a slide like K9999) and his Moon... DM (bigger hitbox back, smaller forward).
- Claw attacks are white instead of black and fire is red instead of orange.
- Nameless has a projectile DM like the one K9999 has and it also uses invisible hit boxes like before. No info on what his SDM (K9999s big mutant arm attack) or HSDM (K9999s screen filling flash attack) looks like.

Kyô's 182 is like in 99. Kamukura is a 1 frame throw. Hikigane is like in 99 ?
Benimaru has is followup move that was abandoned in 96, and the raijin shoot.
Daimon's Max2 is now 63214×2 +BD
Jump CD deals wire damage when counter hit.

GARÔ
Terry has quick burn, power charge, hammer punch, power drive
Joe's Ôgon animation has changed, slash kick wires when counter hit.

AOF
Yuri has a new voice, and a new move where she screams "Slaaash!" (the one in the video)

IKARI
Leona has Grateful Dead.
Ralf's far C is faster, MAX2 is Umanori Galactica. When the opponent is in the air, follow-up with 236*2 PP and the Galactica goes off. It's an instant-kill if you hit on the right frame
Clark has the Gatling from 99. The MAX2 is a 1 frame throw.

AGENT
Vanessa's crouching C is uncancellable. Uppercut, Machinegun are slower.
Seth has his 4 air moves back, and some 2000 combos (like close 1hit>6B>6A>super)

PSYCHO
Athena has the Psycho Shoot

KIM
Choi's MAX2 attacks 4 times, and has him taunt after it.

WOMEN
Mai has the midare kachôôgi.
King's MAX2 is a rambu. The surprise Rose is a super.
Kasumi is helped by Unknown in her MAX2.

K'
K' has a new voice. Ein=>black out is back.
Maxima has a new MAX2 and an upper-angle vapor cannon.

YAGAMI
Iori seems unchanged.
Vice's Overkill is now a super, and she has a new MAX2.

TEACHER
Takuma's kôôken and Haô-- have new effects.
Heidern has a new voice. He seems like in 2001, except with classic "hold" moves instead of command. MAX2 is 236×2AC, makes him shoot some sort of projectiles.
Chin seems unchanged.

97
Billy's crouching C is slower, and forwardB downs.

OROCHI
Yashiro has the Missile Might Bach.
Shermie can close C→6B→command throw.
Chris gains more gauge and deals more damage. Better MAX2, as seen in video.

GIRLS
Xianfei's MAX2 : jump on the other line, then seems to rush like a homing missile.
Mei Lee : voices seems different. 神獣脚 is like in 01.

NESTS
Foxy has a new super. MAX2 is the Mitsubachi.

Kula's La Cachola is a normal super.

Angel's infinite has been neutered. The Royality is slower? She seems overall much slower.

CLONE
Kyô1's MAX2 looks like MI Kyô's Shin'i.
Kyô2 has a super lke what Kirishima was doing in 99EVO. MAX2 makes him grab=>pillar of flame, like Enja.
Kusanagi's MAX2 finish is Kirishima.

02UM
Lin looks like 2000.
Shingo's MAX2 is a Oreshiki Kamukura ? Grabs, hits a few times, checks in his note while the opponent is dizzy, then "Pikaaan!" and finishes.

EDIT
Nameless (K9999)
Almost all D moves seem new, but the slide remains. The close D is still an overhead. New useful 6B : JC>closeC>6B>6A
All special beside Kudakero! have new animations and effects. Generally seems much stronger. Faster jump that allows much better followups to JC.

GENERAL
When I say "new voice", it just means it has been re-recorded, not that it's a new VA.
You can MAX2 and MAX super without charging by using 3 gauges instead of 2.
While in MAX mode, the "hold" motions can all be done without holding.

The game seems does look like it is at 60%. Most new characters look like they have just been c&p there but not balanced at all, especially Foxy and Jhun. Some character have been significantly altered, others seem untouched (yet, I suppose).


I think Mad Man's Cafe might be the source for most of the intel listed here.

Just a few updates on what is happening with the balancing. Do note that Ryo had the lag of his Ko Ho (which was possibly the fastest dragon punch move in the entire universe already) decreased!! Enjoy.

Ryo
- Regained his QCB+P (was missing from 2002)
- Tenchi Haoh Ken (QCFx2+AC) is now a regular SDM
- He has 2 HSDMs (!), one called "Retsu Ryuuko Ranbu" and the other called "Geki Ryuko Ranbu". Not sure what the difference is...
- Lag of dp+A and QCF+A have been reduced.
- far B and far D have faster startup

Robert
- Added tiger effect and sound to the end of his HSDM
- QCF+C has faster startup
- QCF+C flies a bit higher? (not sure about this one)
- Increased the active duration of the startup of his HCB+K (autocombo)
- QCFx2+K DM now has invincibility
- Air QCB+K has more lag

Yuri
- New move, "Yuri Chou Slash". It's the kick she 'borrowed' from SF3 Ryu that you've all seen in the trailer already. Can be connected from weak and strong attacks, and causes sliding knockdown on hit (ie the opponent flies backwards rather than straight up). Wires on counter hit. D version wires if not comboed into.
- New HSDM, "Chou! Ryuuko Ranbu". Can be comboed from strong attacks.
- Crouch B and crouch D have had their priority reduced

Leona
- New HSDM "Dead End Inferno". The appearance differs depending on whether you're in Rage mode or not - once the move ends you return to normal.
- Thanks to the new system she can do freecancel combos now, out of her Moon Slasher and Grand Sabre.

Ralf
- HSDM has been changed to allow a followup command to be entered in the middle, which causes a new move, "Galactica Vanguard" to come out. The timing is very tight (1 frame) but it causes a 1-hit KO (!)
- far C and crouch D are faster
- QCF+P and d,u+P now hit opponents OTG
- down B links to SAB (I think?)

Clark
- Regained his Gatling Attack from KOF2000. C version can be cancelled into Napalm Stretch
- New HSDM, "Rolling Sphere". You need to enter 6 separate commands for it to be executed fully (much like Daimon's HCFx2+K DM, I think)
- far C and crouch C have better priority
- down B links to SAB (again, not sure if this is true)

Athena
- Regained Psycho Shoot
- New move - "Psychic Teleport Fake". The teleport animation moves forward but Athena stays where she is.
- QCB+A has more lag
- Healing followup from her SDM now heals a smaller amount

Kensou
- Added effects to his C throw and his air QCB+P
- rdp+K has more invincibility now
- his CD attack doesn't have him retreat backwards at the startup (so it doesn't look like his fireball startup anymore)

Bao
- Based on the KOF2000 version
- HSDM is "Psycho Ball Gravity". As you might have seen in the trailer it's a static ball that sucks the opponent towards it.
- Jump d+K and df+K now hit OTG
- You can now escape his C throw

Fick hem det här idag, känns fräsht och putsat. Hemska musiken från og2002 är borta och ersatt av rätt bra remixade kof låtar. Läste att de förbättrat input detektionen men jag har inte märkt någon direkt skillnad än. Og 2002 finns också med på skivan i emulerad form vilket äntligen ger oss en så gott som arkad perfekt version.

IMO är kontrollen något bättre/mer spelarvänlig än i '02, men inte i närheten av den i XI eller ens '98: UM.

Kort sagt är spelet fortfarande för mycket execution-fighter för min smak, och trots rosterns storlek föredrar jag de flesta karaktärerna i annan tappning ('98: UM-Heidern, EX Andy, Mature, XI-Clark, Mary, Kensou, Athena, Yuri, Maxima).

När jag väl spelar '02: UM består laget av Andy, Mary och ???
